Colour · Gilt on Fascia

A warm, low-light, gilt-on-black palette taken straight from the venue: the near-black signboard, gold gilt lettering, granite stone, the amber glow of the bar. Gilt is the hero, used deliberately. Cream is the voice. Never pure black, never pure white.

Typography

Playfair Display carries the headlines with a gilt italic flourish for heritage moments. IM Fell English SC sets the tiny tracked eyebrows. Oswald handles condensed labels, prices and microcopy. Work Sans does the explaining.

Proper pints, proper food, proper craic. Live music Thursday to Saturday, sport on the big screens, and a beer garden for the long evenings.

Voice & tone

Confident, terse, a little cheeky. Chalkboard-outside-the-pub energy, not a SaaS landing page. We are a proper Irish pub with heritage and gilt, and we say things in as few words as possible. One house rule across everything: no em dashes.

Do

  • "Two by the arches. This is what a Thursday should look like."
  • "Sun's out. Garden's open."
  • "Food served all day." Always that line, never "kitchen on".
  • Lead with the line that lands. Keep it short.
  • Times in IST, dates as "Thursday 25 June".

Don't

  • "We are delighted to offer a curated experience."
  • Use em dashes, or stack three emoji in a row.
  • Bury the offer under a paragraph of preamble.
  • Sound like every other pub. Be the Arch.
  • "Walk in", "walk-ins welcome", "pull up a stool" or "book a table". The Arch does not take table bookings and these lines are retired.

Photography library

Warm, low-light, real. Honest plates on dark timber, a settled pint, the glow of the bar under the stone arches. Shot in the venue's own light, never cold, never stock. Tap any photo to view it full size. This library grows as new photos come in.

Do

  • Warm tones, real venue light, fill the frame.
  • Lean into the arches, the gilt, the pint.
  • Show people and atmosphere where you can.

Don't

  • Cold/blue white balance or harsh flash.
  • Stock photos or heavy filters.
  • Cluttered, badly-lit snaps as hero posts.

Photo enhancement · before & after

Dark phone shots get a tasteful lift: shadows opened, gentle contrast, a touch of vibrance and sharpening, with the warm pub feel kept intact. Drag the handle to compare. Every new photo drop can be auto-enhanced this way.
